A friend just asked me how to add those nifty spacers between dock icons on the Mac. While a web search returns a lot of articles with command line/terminal instructions, there’s not really an easier/quicker way of doing it.
Meet Dock Spacer, an Automator workflow. Double-click the app and your dock will be re-opened with a shiny new spacer added on the very right. Run the app for every single spacer you want to add. Once created, move- or remove them like the regular app icons in your dock. Easiest way to use it? Just drag the app to your dock and remove it once you’re done adding spacers.
UPDATE: the Automator workflow file can be downloaded here. In Automator, just do a ’Save As…’ and select ‘Applicaton’ as the preferred file Format and you’re good to go
